Headlines Tuesday 2nd September

Peace, brother, or I’ll kill you
Andrew Bolt

Just another peace protest by Leftists who demonstrate their superior morality:
Beautiful Sunset
Protesters smashed windows, punctured car tires and threw bottles Monday during an anti-war march to the site of the Republican National Convention. Police used pepper spray in confrontations with demonstrators and arrested five.

Green prose wins again
Andrew Bolt
The literary awards of Labor Premier John Brumby are lavished on precisely the kind of supper-singers you’d expect:

Mr Brumby presented 12 awards worth a total of $210,000 at Zinc in Federation Square....

(Richard) Flanagan received the award for Out of Control: The Tragedy of Tasmania’s Forests, in which he exposed links between political parties and Gunns, the company behind the controversial Tamar Valley pulp mill, and their impact on the Tasmanian wilderness.

And:
Andrew Bovell won the drama prize for When the Rain Stops Falling.

Manne vs Henderson: score it
Andrew Bolt
Gerard Henderson vs Robert Manne. Once again, Manne fails to answer the simple question: Just name 10 - or even just one of the Australian conservatives he claims supported the massacre of Indonesia Leftists. Tens of thousands of sneering words follow, when just a couple of names and a quote would end the argument.

Palin’s daughter pregnant now, and not before
Andrew Bolt
Beautiful Sunset
Sarah Palin would have preferred some other way to prove that her youngest child, Trig, born in late April, is indeed hers and not actually the son of her eldest daughter, as Left-wing websites insisted:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced moments ago that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is five months pregnant and is planning to keep the baby and marry the father.

“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,” said Sarah and Todd Palin in a statement. “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.”

Wrong side
Andrew Bolt
A bad mistake - or a nasty reminder - when an Australian Muslim organistation instinctively sides with Taliban suspects over the Australian soldiers trying to hold them captive:

SUSPECTED Taliban militants arrested by Australian special forces in Afghanistan have been detained in “dog pens” in actions that have left Australian Muslim groups outraged…

The empty dog pens were used to hold overnight four suspected Taliban insurgents who were arrested in a raid by special forces soldiers on April 29....

McKew and McMullen: Dreams of McNirvana
Andrew Bolt
Spoken like a true socialist, dreaming of means without end and ends without means:

KEVIN Rudd’s handpicked adviser on childcare has attacked the current ratio of one carer to five babies as “not good enough"…

No wonder they’d rather call it “climate change”
Andrew Bolt
I guess you didn’t know that global warming would actually cause cooling:

Conservation group WWF has blamed climate change for the coldest August in Sydney for more than 60 years.
