The State Labor Government has robbed its own Climate Change Fund to pay for its own departments to go green, leaving families and businesses without environmental subsidies, Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change Pru Goward said today.

The Mini-budget papers reveal $18 million from the NSW Climate Change Fund will be gifted to the Department of Housing to be spent on retrofitting public housing stock with water and energy efficiency devices. (Appendix A page 7).

Written by Jillian Skinner MP
The mini-budget slices nearly a billion dollars from the health portfolio, including cutting Area Health Service funding by $205 million, proposes unworkable mergers, downgrades nurse staffing and continues Labor’s health blame game – instead of tackling the problems plaguing our hospitals, Shadow Minister for Health Jillian Skinner said today.

“Nathan Rees has been loose with the truth yet again when trying to spin away the fact his government is cutting more than $200 million from local Area Health Services,’ Mrs Skinner said.

Mini Budget Fails To Take NSW Off Credit Watch
Written by Mike Baird MP
Despite the Mini Budget introducing new and higher taxes, slashing infrastructure and axing public transport services, NSW is still on negative credit watch because the NSW Labor Government has run the State into the ground, Shadow Minister for Finance Mike Baird said today.

“The ratings agencies have today confirmed the Mini Budget has failed to lift NSW off negative credit watch and the outlook will not be reassessed until at least 2010. Clearly they have lost confidence in Labor’s management of this State,” Mr Baird said.
