US Campaign for Burma .. Impact

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT!

Burma is getting a lot of attention right now. We are excited that the international community has paid plenty of attention to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD taking their 43 seats in Parliament. Our years of pushing for her release and political involvement is beginning to pay off. With so much happening recently, we need your assistance to further our work and make sure that any transitions truly support all the people of Burma, not just a few. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi may have a seat in Parliament, but there are still Kachinrunning for their lives in fear of military attacks. We need your help to continue to push for human rights and a political system that is sustainable, equitable, and truly democratic. Thankfully, a generous donor has offered to match our supporters' donations, so every donation you give will have double the impact. In the next 3 months we want to raise $15,000 - will you help us?
We especially now need this additional support as corporate interests aggressively pressure the U.S. government to turn a blind eye to ongoing human rights abuses in Burma and lift all sanctions. The U.S. Campaign for Burma's goal is to advocate and echo the desires of communities in Burma, and leaders of Burma's ethnic minorities have urged the U.S. not to lift sanctions as it might danger peace negotiations and further conflict.
Our efforts are supported by many activists and leaders inside the country. Watch this video from comedian/social activist Zarganar explaining why you should support the work of USCB.
This week we launched our new interactive map about conflict and human rights abuses in Burma. The map is a powerful new tool that vividly shows how ongoing atrocities are still a reality in Burma. We are always searching for new ways to spread awareness and further action. Since our founding in 2003, USCB’s work has delivered tangible results for the people of Burma, and our members have been the driving force in mobilizing political pressure for democracy and human rights in Burma. Our members are our biggest supporters and we want to reward your ongoing contributions. Find out more here.
In Solidarity,
U.S. Campaign for Burma
